1950's Bridesmaid Dress
This dress is just wonderful! Made by the department store Hatchers of Taunton, as a bespoke piece for Doris to wear as maid of honour to her sister, Rita's, wedding in 1958.
With a lovely full skirt, circular in shape, so just imagine dancing the night away in this beauty.
The waistline on this dress is beautifully fitted to sit up between the bust line. The fabric has been gathered along this line on either bust to create fabulous shaping. The neckline is a simple, modest v shape. The capped sleeves are not a separate component to this dress, instead having been formed as part of the bodice.
This dress has a fully functioning zip fastening that runs down the centre back of the garment.
